Authentic Egyptian Oud


This is our authentic Egyptian Inlaid Oud. This oud is sold other places for $500 to $700.

The Oud is inlaid with mother of pearl (abalone) which adds a great look for display as well as play. It has 4 double strings and 1 single string on it already. A total of 9 strings, with 3 extra knobs for more strings. The oud has very intricate carved wood covers for the sound holes. There are three of them. The largest one measures 5 inches in diameter. The two other ones measure 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The wood sound covers provide a better tone quality compared to other plastic ones.

The whole back side is covered with a beautiful inlay mother of pearl design. This is all done in Egypt by some of the greatest Oud makers. The inlay design may vary slightly on each Oud.

Here are the measurements for the Oud:

The front of the Oud from the beginning of the head (where the strings are attached) to the bottom of the Oud is 38 inches
The front of the Oud only (from bottom to end of neck) is 29 inches
The width of the center of the front side is 14 inches
The diameter around the center of the front and back is 38 inches

This is an Oud that you can play and then display as a beautiful piece of art.
